"Jason Vail (GUT) is John, and gives the stronger role of the two. He portrays the semi-weird-but-mostly-nice guy quite well."

"The acting here was beyond great, coming across as downright real. Each of the leads were amazing in their own right, but what really steals the show is the transformation they both go through. Watching Tom (Jason Vail) go from a man who was simply dissatisfied with the mundane nature and repetitiveness of his life to a man that is so eaten away by the video that he becomes visibly unhealthy, becoming almost corpse-like as he suffers from vivid nightmares and waking-life hallucinations is quite the experience..."

"What also stands out is the performance of the story’s costar, Jason Vail. I have previously seen Jason play the lead role in Gut (also reviewed on Space Jockey Reviews); his presence in The Cabin is again the ingredient for a movie’s success. Vail plays his awkward character to perfection, with an ironic natural ease; as usual, he is forceful as an actor, yet subtle enough to make his characters believable and real. John, as portrayed by Vail, is not even comfortable with himself, telegraphing his insecurities like a beacon, concealing nothing he thinks. His thought’s are worn on his sleeve, and we see them well. But again, be careful what you think. Some of the most deceptive people are those who deceive themselves; and, in doing so, they deceive us even more! In The Cabin, Jason Vail does another standout job deceiving us as an actor. And that, my fellow Space Jockeys, is the best an actor can do!"

Official Selection of the 2013 Festival Penumbra, Monterrey, Nuevo León, México November 7th - 11th.
I received a fan letter from Paul in Mechanicville, NY asking me to sign the dvd cover of my feature GUT that he watched and liked very much. I don't get fan mail all that often (Not really a named actor, lol, and have a ways to go) but when I do get them, I treasure them and I always try and send the writer something in return. Horror fans are without a doubt, THE BEST fans out there! And I am thankful for them and the kind words I sometimes get, makes an actor feel good. I enjoy all the stuff that comes with being an actor, big sets, trailers, the premieres, the picture taking and all the other fluff but at the end of the day, this is what it is all about...reaching an audience. Thanks again Paul, I will get this back to you signed and a few goodies thrown in!
From the director Tommy Faircloth..."Hey guys, THE CABIN has been selected for it's 15th festival! We are an official selection forTwisted Tails Film Festival taking place in Dallas Texas December 6-8th.
